Educational Board Game
A new trivia game, based on the prevention of HIV/AIDS and STBBI, has been adapted for Deaf and Hard of hearing people.
The goal of this project is to increase awareness of new terms regarding sexuality, diverse sexual orientations, and STBBI (sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections).
This game is a valuable reference tool for the Deaf community, for anyone working with Deaf and Hard of hearing people, and for anyone who may encounter Deaf people in their daily lives.

Directory: From AIDS to HANDS)
In 1998, the Coalition Sida des Sourds du Québec published a specialized directory on HIV/AIDS in la Langue des Signes Québécoise (LSQ), with the goal of fostering communication and increasing knowledge.
This Directory contains the 306 new specialized terms most commonly used in the field. Each term is illustrated and clearly defined, and is accompanied by a definition and a photo of the corresponding LSQ sign.
The Directory is divided into six thematic sections:
- Counselling;
- Sexuality and sensuality;
- STI (STBBI);
- Psychosocial factors;
- Medicine;
- Treatments.
It has become necessary for these words to be translated into LSQ, so that Deaf and Hard of hearing people may become aware of the signs corresponding to specialized terms. Also, the Directory is a reference tool for anyone working in the health sector who comes into contact with Deaf and Hard of hearing people.
